    9 DAYS / 8 NIGHTS:
"Nature Circuit in Harakmbut territory by river and ancestral trails".

On this tour you will cross the Amarakaeri reserve on foot and by boat. About 50km trekking along forest paths and beaches of rivers with crystal clear waters: Serjali, Isiriwe and Azul rivers to finally arrive at the Shisue river. From there we go by canoe to the communities of Puerto Luz and San Jose del Karene before finishing up in Puerto Maldonado. The trip starts in Colinas but finishes in low jungle. All guides are Harakmbut from Shintuya and Puerto Luz, changing between them during the trek. The six days trekking in the jungle requires some previous experience of trekking in difficult terrain.

    ITINERARY:

    First day:
Early departure from the imperial city of Cusco, the journey is along a road that crosses through part of the Andes mountain range as we head toward Paucartambo, a traditional, Andean village where we will eat lunch. As we continue towards Acjanaco (Manu National park) you will be able to see the forest from a height of 3500 metres. (sometimes the view is restricted by clouds). We arrive at the native community of Shintuyo, visit the community and head down the river "Alta Madre de Dios" to Tambo Weuk where we will eat dinner and spend the night.

    Second day:
After breakfast and a bath in hot waters we leave for Itahuania trekking through forest and streams. We prepare lunch on the beach in the shade of the trees, we set up camp in the afternoon near a clay pit or ¨Collpa¨ of MAMIFEROS SENKE. Dinner is by firelight and spend the night camping near the stream.

    Third Day:
Breakfast at the camp then we trek along a path covered by massive trees towards the Isiriwe River, the guide will show you local medicinal plants, explain their properties and their uses. With luck we will get to see some of the local fauna. Lunch is prepared on the beach. We spend the night on another beach of the Isiriwe River where the sky is normally very clear.

    Fourth Day:
Breakfast at the camp, then a trek along the beaches where we will observe the ¨collpa¨ of parrots where ancient peoples hunted the birds for their feathers. We will stop to do some fishing with bow and arrows and the guide will show you an ancient fishing technique used to fish Carachamas (a species of fish) in holes in the rocks. Lunch on the beach and then we set up camp near a small waterfall where you can take a bath. After dinner a night walk where we will look for caimans and other nocturnal species. Night is spent in the camp.

    Fifth Day:
Alter breakfast we walk through jungle passing through a BOSQUE DE COLINA with abundant bambu, towards the Azul river we will see the remnants of small scale prospective mining activities in the area. On arrival at the Azul river we eat lunch and then continue along the beaches fishing and observing the remote scenery on the way before setting up camp for the night on the beach of the Azul River. Dinner and overnight.

    Sixth Day:
Breakfast at the camp and then if the level of the river allows us we will build a reed boat. You will see the construction using only natural materials from the forest. You will observe a vast range of wildlife on the beaches, river banks and trees. We eat lunch en route as we head towards the camp located in front of the trail that leads to the next river. Here we spend the night.

    Seventh Day:
Breakfast at the camp we leave the boats and start the last trek through the jungle to the Tisoe Stream which runs into the Kupodnhue River. Now we see the typical vegetation of the low lying jungle, the previous days travel is through terrain with small COLINAS. We eat lunch on arrival at Tisoe, then it's a trip in a canoe until we meet the Kupodnhue river, subsidiary of the Colorado River, where we spend the night camping on the beach.

    Eighth Day:
Alter breakfast its a motor boat trip to Harakmbut Community, Puerto Luz, lunch and camping on the beach. In the afternoon we visit the local community where we can shop for souvenirs before enjoying a dinner prepared by the locals.

    Ninth Day:
Breakfast and then we leave to the community of San Jose, the trip is in a motor boat. We will get a chance to visit the community and its surroundings before continuing by boat to Boca Colorado. In summer season we then head by road to Puerto Maldonado, in winter we take a large motor boat to the port of Laberinto, we eat lunch on the way and then take a bus or taxi to the city of Puerto Maldonado with the indigenous guide accompanying us to the city. We spend the night in a hotel of your choice.
